TOKYO - Kabar mengenai Sony yang akan meluncurkan PlayStation 4 kembali mencuat ke telinga para gamer. Setelah beberapa pekan lalu dikabarkan developer kits PlayStation 4 telah dikapalkan dan berbasis AMD A10, kini majalah PSM3 di Jerman mengungkapkan detail informasi terbaru terkait konsol PlayStation generasi ke-4 tersebut.
Dilansir PS3news, edisi PSM3 Jerman ini diungkap melalui website TheGNet dan menginformasikan beberapa rincian rumor PlayStation 4, yang dijuluki konsol Orbis. Website Gameranx menyebutkan, meskipun tetap ada nama "PlayStation", tetapi konsol game Sony generasi terbaru ini tidak dinamakan dengan sebutan PS4 dan tidak menggunakan nomor "4".
Alasannya, karena nomor "4" disebut dengan kata "Shi" dalam bahasa Jepang dan China. "Shi" juga merujuk pada arti kata "death" atau kematian, sehingga tampaknya Sony tidak akan menggunakan nomor yang dianggap tidak memberikan keberuntungan tersebut.
Informasi yang beredar juga menyebutkan, demo PlayStation generasi baru ini akan dipamerkan Sony pada ajang Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) tahun depan. Kabarnya, game di konsol terbaru ini tidak akan berjalan dengan baik di resolusi 4K 'Ultra HD'.
Selain itu, PlayStation 4 ini akan mendukung di standar resolusi 1080p dan 60 fps. Kalaupun menggunakan teknologi 4K, maka ini hanya mendukung untuk video.
Rumor juga mengungkapkan, PlayStation 4 akan mengusung memori 4GB hingga 8GB. Sony juga dikabarkan menyematkan dukungan flash memory 16GB.
Tidak hanya itu, kabarnya, PlayStation 4 tidak akan mendukung dengan game yang bisa dimainkan di PlayStation 3. Game di PlayStation 4 harus didaftarkan melalui akun PlayStation Network.
